• 05:30 Departure from San José to the paradisiacal North Caribbean: Tortuguero Canals! Our bilingual guide will be your host on the tour.

 

• 06:10 The panorama of the Tropical Cloud Forest and its charm of threads of waterfalls indicate that we cross the dense Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the most important in diversity and aquifer springs.

 

• 07:15 Breakfast time!   Right after enjoying those beautiful mountains, a typical breakfast (coffee, juice, egg, and the traditional "Gallo Pinto"  ) awaits you to regain energy and continue the diverse geography of the Caribbean.

 

• 07:45 Stop at a banana plantation.  Do you think banana cultivation is simple?  Our guide will give a little talk about the cultivation process, care, and packaging. Your important details to achieve the quality product that our country exports to the whole world.

 

• 10:00 . La Pavona dock.  Arrive at the pier and start an exciting aquatic journey through the Canals of the famous Tortuguero National Park, the nesting site of the  Green Turtle -Chelonia Midas-. You will learn about the Humid Tropical Forest,  culture of the locals, the lifestyle on the riverbanks, and the biological diversity of giant trees; a forest that hosts species of mammals such as monkeys,  tapir, jaguars, otters, manatees, lots of fish and alligators and exotic birds residents and migratory, its special for birdwatching lovers! What to say about the variety of insects and amphibians!  Did you know that it is possible to spot dolphins in the canals?   Countless experiences will surprise you!   You will have the opportunity to climb Tortuguero Hill, a volcanic stratum,  to get to the viewpoint of mesmerizing views that will renew you!

 

• 13:30 Time for a hearty lunch!  On the itinerary, there will be a visit to the colorful town of Tortuguero, where you will have lunch and you can walk its main "avenue", buy some souvenirs and enjoy its atmosphere!  There is an opportunity to visit its extensive beach, nesting site of the Green Turtle from June to October.

 

• 15:30 Return.  Estimated time in which you will be arriving at the La Pavona dock and boarding the bus. Estimated time to arrive in San Jose between 5-6 pm, may vary depending on weather conditions and traffic crossing the hills of Braulio Carrillo.
